On Wednesday, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. inspected the two new San Francisco High School (SFHS) buildings after one of them caught fire a day before the 2026 class opening on Monday, June 8.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) restructured the fourth-storey Dao building, replacing the damaged structure to now accommodate 36 classrooms.
Additionally, the old Narra Building was replaced by the Henry Sy Sr. Hall, which holds 24 classrooms.
Both buildings have installed sprinklers in case of emergency and were completed in the span of 8 months.
Marcos claimed that the structures' completion demonstrates noticeable advancements upon effective allocation of government money.
“As long as the money goes to the project and not into people’s pockets. If the funds are properly directed to the project, this is what we can accomplish. We will continue doing this, and we will continue ensuring that government funds are spent on projects like these,” he stated.
The President then made a humorous remark to allay any suspicions that he was created by Artificial Intelligence (AI) rather than being personally present at the ceremony.
“Inspect it carefully, otherwise they’ll say again that I’m just an AI standing here,” he said.
