MANILA, Philippines — Nursing and allied health students enrolled in Related Learning Experience (RLE) programs will receive a one-time P25,000 subsidy under the government's Allied Health Experiential Assistance for Deserving Students (AHEAD) program.
The subsidy will be available beginning the first semester of Academic Year 2026–2027 and aims to provide financial assistance to students undertaking clinical and community-based training requirements as part of their health-related degree programs.
According to the program guidelines, qualified beneficiaries enrolled in eligible nursing and allied health courses will receive the grant to help cover expenses associated with their experiential learning activities, including transportation, uniforms, medical supplies, and other training-related costs.
The AHEAD program was established to ease the financial burden faced by students pursuing healthcare professions while supporting the country's efforts to strengthen its healthcare workforce.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), led by Chairperson Shirley Agrupis, said the initiative recognizes the significant expenses incurred by students during their practical training and seeks to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder them from completing their education.
“Many of our students pursuing health-related degrees face substantial costs during their clinical and community-based training. Through this program, we aim to provide meaningful support so they can complete their education without being hindered by financial barriers,” Agrupis said.
CHED will oversee the implementation of the program and coordinate with higher education institutions nationwide to ensure proper distribution of the subsidy.
